Strength Training Starter Kit at Home
A home strength setup should make progression straightforward without creating unsafe clutter.
Adjustable dumbbells are often the central purchase because they replace several fixed pairs, but the adjustment range and shape must suit the exercises you intend to perform.
Resistance bands add pulling, assistance and warm-up options at relatively low cost. Choose an anchor only when it is approved for the band system and the supporting structure.
Inspect bands regularly and keep your face and other people away from the potential recoil path.
A bench broadens supported pressing, rowing and seated movements. Check its total dimensions, adjustment mechanism, stated load limits and the clearance needed to get into position.
Folding benches save storage space but still need a secure operating footprint.
Protect the floor beneath the active lifting zone and keep weights out of walkways. Flooring reduces surface damage and can soften normal placement, but it is not permission to drop weights or exceed structural limits.
Buy for your current programme and a realistic progression range. Verify technique with an appropriately qualified coach or professional when needed; SetupSelect provides equipment-planning information, not training or medical advice.
